Why this exists

Most industrial tools spend the overwhelming majority of their lives sitting still. A mag drill gets used hard for two days and then lives in a cabinet for eight months. A pipe threader earns its keep on one job and then depreciates quietly in the back of a shop.

Meanwhile the contractor across town needs that exact tool on Thursday, and their options are buying one they'll use twice, or driving to a big-box rental counter, standing in line, and driving back again to return it.

That gap is the whole business. Forge buys good tools, keeps them maintained, and rents them by the day to the people in Jacksonville who need them for a job rather than for a career.

What you get dealing with a small operation

• You talk to the owner. Not a counter associate reading a screen, and not a call center in another state. If you ask whether a tool will do your job, you get a real answer — including "no" when that's the honest one.
• No membership, no account, no minimum. Rent one tool for one day. That's a normal transaction here, not an exception.

Forge is early. The fleet is small and growing deliberately rather than all at once, and we'd rather tell you a tool isn't available than hand you something that won't do the job. Right now everything is pickup by appointment in Jacksonville — we're not running delivery yet. When that changes, it'll say so here.
